FAQ-Massage Therapy

Why should I consider Massage Therapy?
Massage therapy is a hands-on, non-invasive approach that helps reduce muscular tension, improve circulation, support recovery from injury or chronic discomfort, and enhance overall physical function. It can benefit people of all ages and activity levels.
Do I need to be in pain to book an appointment?
Not at all. Massage therapy is valuable for overall wellness, injury prevention, stress management, and improving mobility and recovery. Regular sessions can support long-term health and performance.
What should I wear during a massage session?
Your comfort is important. There is no need to undress completely — gym clothes or comfortable clothing are perfectly acceptable. If the therapist needs to access areas that are considered sensitive, such as the chest wall, inner thighs, or gluteal region, your consent will always be requested in advance as indicated in your individualized treatment plan.
When would I see results?
Many clients notice improvements in tension, mobility, or relaxation after the first session. The total number of sessions depends on your specific condition and goals, with treatment plans tailored to each individual.
Are massage therapy treatments painful?
Massage therapy is gentle and tailored to your needs. Pressure and techniques are adjusted according to your comfort level, and treatment will always be stopped or modified if requested by the client, making it suitable for people with chronic pain or sensitivities.
What is your cancellation policy?
Time is valuable! If you need to reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid a no-show fee equivalent to 50% of the session cost. Thank you for your understanding.
Is massage therapy covered by my insurance plan?
Massage therapy is covered by most private extended health insurance plans. Coverage varies by provider, so please check your plan for details.

How often should I receive treatment?
The frequency of treatments depends on your individual needs and goals. During your initial assessment, your therapist will recommend a treatment plan tailored specifically to you.
Is massage therapy compatible with other types of treatments?
Yes, massage therapy can complement other therapeutic approaches, including osteopathy, physiotherapy, yoga, or other health care interventions. Your therapist can work collaboratively with other practitioners as part of your overall wellness plan.
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
No referral is required to book a massage therapy session.
Is massage therapy the same as chiropractic or physiotherapy?
No. Massage therapy primarily focuses on soft tissue, including muscles, tendons, and superficial fascia, to improve mobility, reduce tension, and support recovery. It is distinct from chiropractic or physiotherapy, which may focus more on joints, skeletal alignment, or rehabilitation exercises.
